- A series of weekly races involving traditional Achill Yawl sailing boats.

- A series of weekly lectures on archaeology held on Tuesday evenings at the Folklife Centre in Dooagh.
- Deserted Village Archaeology Open Days
- Achill Archaeological Field School hosts a series of Open Days at its site at the Deserted Village, Slievemore.
- Art Exhibition
- Exhibitions of art at the Art Gallery, Saula
- Cinemobile

- Achill Half Marathon
- This popular half-marathon sees a number of extra events for 2008 including a free beach barbeque for all participants following the run. Run commences at 11am. Details of previous events on our Achill Marathon page.
- Bernie Varley Memorial 10k Walk
- Sponsored walk in aid of Croí, the west of Ireland heart foundation. Family fun and exercise for a worthy cause. Final date TBC
- St. Colman's Garden Fete
- Family fun weekend. Located between Keel & Pollagh.
- Golf Open Week
- Achill Golf Club hosts Open Week competitions.

- Classical Concert
- A string quartet of performers from the celebrated London-based Orchestra of The Enlightenment will perform Mozart's Oboe Quartet in St Thomas's Church on Friday August 15th 2008 at 8pm. The concert, organised by the Achill Heinrich Böll Association, will benefit the Keel Community Hall Development & the Achill Sheltered Housing project.
