10th – 12th August: Tarry Fest
Festival celebrating the community of Dookinella.

13th – 17th August: Outdoor Activities Summer Camp
Achill Outdoor Activities Centre offers a summer camp with activities including Surfing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Coasteering, Rockclimbing, Archery, Mountain Boarding and Team Games. 10am – 15.00pm each day, €80 for the week or €20 per day.

10th – 19th August: Féile Chill Damhnait

18th August: Pop-up Exhibition – A History of Achill in 25 Objects
Achill Archaeological Field School hosts this one-day pop-up exhibition. 11am – 6pm.

25th – 26th August: Achill Back-to-Back Half, Full & Ultra Marathon
The Achill Ultra event returns with its second half, full and ultra marathon running event of the year. More Details.

1st September: Tour de Achill
Cycling event organised by Achill Wheelers cycling club, with choice of 38km, 65km or 110km routes.

8th September: QUEST Achill
Adventure racing (cycling / running / kayaking) with three levels of difficulty.

15th – 23rd September: Talking Walls Festival
A festival of discovery to Achill Island, through buildings, walks, talks, art, drama and much, much more!! See facebook page for full details.

28th – 30th September: Battle For The Lake
Annual kitesurfing competition and music festival.

13th October: Currane Challenge
Annual duathlon event in Currane involving cycle and hill climb. Details and booking on www.curranechallenge.com.
