Friday 11th August:

9pm – Opening of Féile

9.30pm – Community Support Services Appreciation Night
Services include: Achill Lifeboat, Achill Coastguard, Achill Fire Brigade, Achill Order of Malta, Gardai, Doctors, Clergy, St. Fionnans and St. Colmans.
Finger food served. Music with Tom & Fiona.

Saturday 12th August:

12 noon – 5K & 10K road races

2.30pm – Children’s Talent Competition

3pm – 5-a-side soccer on Tra Bhan, Mini Digger Basketball, Change the Wheel Challenge

5.30pm – presentation of prizes

10pm – Cill Damhnait Failte Abhaile Night
Kildavnet Welcome Home Night. Meet old friends and bring back memories of times past. Music with Cheers.

Sunday 13th August:

12.30pm – Cycle Fun Run with Achill Wheelers.
Fun cycle around the Atlantic Drive, approx. 15km.

1.30pm – Family Fun Day.
Teacups, slide, egg and spoon race, hoola hoop, wellie throwing, three legged race, treasure hunt, plus many more novelty events.

2.30pm – Ken and Barbie Balloon Magic.

5.30pm – Presentation of prizes.

10.30pm – Commemoration of 60th Anniversary of Opening of Granaghan Cemetery, with lighting of candles in memory of our loves ones. Followed by music with Cheers.

Monday 14th August:

4.30pm – Art Demonstration by professional artist Padraig McCaul

9pm – Presentation by Frank Masterson
On the land purchases for the Achill Railway Line in the 1890s.

10.30pm – Irish Night with cúpla focal and boxty. Music with The Tiernan Family.

Tuesday 15th August:

4.30pm – A Taste of Achill
Cookery demonstration by Achill’s own Tom Gallagher. Achill produce used where possible, eg. Clare Island Salmon, Caoracla Lamb, Achill Oysters, Clew Bay Mussels, Achill Island Smoked Salmon, Achill Island Honey, Achill Seasalt, Achill Carrageen and Dillisk.

7.30pm – Short Guide to Kildavnet Cemetery with Tomas Mac Sheain.

8pm – Mass, Blessing of the Graves and visiting of St. Dympna’s Well in Old Cemetery in Kildownet.

8.30pm – Sceal Baile na h’Ailte (ar lean) le Maire Bean Ui Chaoimh.
Talk on ‘The Deserted Villages of Ailt’, by Mary Jo O’Keefe. (Continued from 2016).

Wednesday 16th August:

9.30am – Ferry to Clare Island. Departs Ce Bheag 9.30. Departs Clare Island 4.30pm.

2pm to 4pm – Open Day at Achill Boxing Club.

3.30pm – Beauty Day Bootcamp with afternoon tea and prosecco.

9pm – Festival Whist Drive. Top prize €50.

Thursday 17th August:

12 noon – Guided Walk on Sli Ghrainne Mhaol with Vivian. See the ruins of old villages of Ailt, ancient grave markings and lots more.

3.30pm – Achill Lifeboat invites you to view the Lifeboat and station.

8pm – Festival Bingo with €200 jackpot.

Friday 18th August:

11.30am to 4.30pm – Heritage Day in Ashleam Old School.
Demonstrations of basket weaving and butter churning. Displays of farm, fishing, household and other implements from yesterday. Old photos, Bealoideas National Schools Collection (1938/1939) from Dereens, Achill Beg and Dooega National Schools, military services collection, ship wrecks off Achill, and much more.

3pm to 5pm – Secret Garden Tour. Bleanaskill Lodge, est. 1895, with three acres of wonderful gardens created by Alexander Williams RHA and kept in prime condition for over 120 years.

5pm – Achill Coast Guard Rescue Demonstration and viewing of boats and equipment.

7.30pm – Type-a-One Golf Challenge.

9pm – Unveiling of memorial to Paudie Molloy who contributed greatly to the community of Kildownet and Achill.

9.30pm – Festival Table Quiz. Prizes for winners and runners-up.
