What a fantastic place. My family and I are just after returning from the most relaxing two week break. Thought I should share my delight with everyone. Highly recommend this destination. The walks and views are simple spectacular. I will certainly be back before the Summer is out.

Just came back from Achill Island. My great grand parents came to Canada from Dugort in 1898. My sister and I along with our daughters went to find the graves of reletives. We had no luck but met the most wonderful people. We stayed at Bervie B+B in Keel. I have to go back.It's a wonderful place!!!

We have visited Achill several times, and although there are many fantastic places in Ireland this is just paradise, also what made the holiday for us was our BB - Seacroft. Maureen and Stephen and their family made us feel as if we were visiting family not staying in a B&B - cannot wait to return.

I have always wanted to visit Achill Island especially since I am a big fan of Heinrich Boll. In the late 70s, I knew a girl named Ann Cahill from Achill Island when she was a student in Galway. If anyone knows of her whereabouts I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Just came back from Achill. We stayed in Achill Sound Hotel. We drove
all over the island. I have fallen in love with Achill, it's the most beautiful place I have seen. I really would love to live there one day. Breathtaking scenery! I would say its a pretty healthy place to live away from the city life. Keem Bay was lovely. So sad to leave, can't wait for next summer. My
parents were both from Ireland. What a truly lovely place.

A group of us came to Achill Island and were mesmerized by it. We were treated with such warmth and friendliness. The fast-paced life over here in San Francisco does not allow anyone to enjoy the good things of life. We were able to do that in Achill Island. Also, I've become a fan of Guinness too!

I saw Achill four years ago and I thought: this is THE PERFECT PLACE to live .. and to die. Everything in this place is great; sea, sky, wind, land. Only there I felt my soul really free and full of peace. I love you Achill.

We flew into Knock and the snow was still on the ground (it was just after Christmas) Our hire car was ready and waiting for the drive to Keel. The dark roads took some getting used to - but there was very little traffic about. The scenery around Keel is beautiful. The winds are bracing to say the least - but it certainly clears the head. The pubs were great and the crack was mighty.

I was in achill-island this year in dooagh and it was a very beautiful location around the b&b the New Verona. I have been driving around the small villages and the most beautiful place was the Keem Bay view.I hope one day to spend my honeymoon there. I am from Germany.

My mother was from Achill she was a Cafferty, father was John and she lived across from the Achill Head Hotel. I still remember all the great times with my counsins, staying in my mothers home where she grew up.

Excellent site. My wife and I have made at least one trip to Achill every year since 1994. The place just gets into your soul. Would love to see a web cam posted on the site, preferably from the top of Minawn looking toward Keel & Keem, for those of us suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Looking forward to being back in 2005.

What a fantastic site. So clear and easy to use and what a fabulous island. The maps are the easiest I have ever come across for navigating. Hoping to find some good traditional music. We are looking forward to experiencing this wonderful island when we come in our rented camper van in September. Achill here we come!
