Memorial Lanterns for Achill Talking Walls Festival
Memorial Lanterns
One of the events featured in the 2019 Talking Walls Festival (12th – 20th October) is a Memorial Night, when a flotilla of lighted memorial lanterns is launched into the sea in remembrance of loved ones. Memorial lanterns are available from Achill Tourism’s office in Achill Sound, and they can be personalised with a message written onto the ‘sail’ of each vessel.

If you are unable to attend the Memorial Night in person, you can purchase a lantern online and have the name of your loved one, and/or a message, written on to it. We will light and launch your lantern on your behalf, with the event captured on video.
