The most quirky and original shop in Achill, in an original 19th century cottage on the cliffs overlooking Silver Strand and the Slievemore mountain.
Redfoxpress is run by Francis and Ham since 20 years. They publish their own work as hand made books and screen printed editions using their drawings, collages and photographs. Many of their books relate to Achill and Irish interests: visual works, photography, poetry and history. A big variety of screen prints produced in their own studio is also available for sale.
They collaborate also with artists from all over the world and exhibit their work at art book fairs in Paris, London and various cities in USA and Asia.
Visitors are also fascinated by curiosities they have collected during their many travels.
Since many years they are fascinated by Polaroid photography and have the biggest collection of Polaroid cameras in Ireland.
They live in an untouched original cottage built in 1870, which is located on the very edge of the cliffs overlooking Silver Strand and the Slievemore Mountain in Dugort. Their cottage is the most photographed and painted cottage of the island.
Open all year round 12 to 6 pm
(Occasionally closed when participating to book fairs)
