The movie ‘My Sailor, My Love’, which was filmed on location in Achill and surrounding areas in the autumn of 2021, will go on general release in Ireland on Friday 10th March.
The film is a Finnish-Irish-Danish co-production, directed by Finn Klaus Härö and written by Jimmy Karlson and Kirsi Vikman. It stars Ireland’s Bríd Brennan and Scottish actor James Cosmo, supported by Catherine Walker and Nora-Jane Noone.
This later-life romance story was filmed in several locations in Currane and Achill Island, with other scenes in neighbouring towns and villages. Co-incidentally it was shot at the same time as The Banshees of Inisherin, with some locals appearing as extras in both movies.
