Achill Tourism Launches Pop-Up Bakery & Achill Crafted Shop
July 2020
Achill Tourism’s information office and shop in Keel will host two new initiatives aimed at helping local producers. Every Saturday it will host a pop-up bakery, with fresh-baked breads, scones, cakes and treats on sale from 10am to 12 noon. A queuing system will operate with one person or family allowed inside at any one time, to ensure social distancing. Separately, a range of ‘Achill Crafted’ goods will be on sale every day during normal opening hours (11am to 7pm). This includes Achill Bog Oak Sculpture by Liam Kelly, Achill Cards by Impack Design, handmade scented candles and soaps, Achill Island Seasalt, homemade jams and preserves, Achill Island Smoked Salmon, Inish Jewellery, handcrafted framed pictures, and various knitwear and quilting products. The initiative comes as Achill’s two summer markets remain closed due to COVID-19 concerns. For further details contact Achill Tourism’s Keel office on 083 093 7193.
