Achill Island is to host an ‘Ocean Literacy Day’ as part of the 2025 International Conference on Basking Sharks, which is jointly organised by the Irish Basking Shark Group (IBSG) and the National Parks and Wildlife Service. The Achill event takes place on Sunday, 31st August and will have talks, headland watches, activities for children, entertainment, and more.
