Roll up! Roll up! The circus is coming to town in Achill and Westport in November, with a distinctly scientific flavour. Achill-based troupe Circus 250 is hosting the latest installment of its popular ‘Circus Science by the Sea’ festival from 14th – 16th November 2025.
Events take place at a number of venues in Achill and at Westport Town Hall, with something for everyone. Kicking off with an interactive storytelling and puppet show for very young children and their families, and including events ranging from cabaret and science shows to beekeeping and Achill’s basking shark heritage.
Produced with support from Research Ireland, the event is billed as “a festival for everyone: fun-seeking families, environmentalists, artistes and physicists! This year’s line-up includes clowning, eggs-periments, acrobats, fire, bee-themed fun, music, gigantic bubbles and a special visit from the Rose of Tralee!”.
