Cycle For Shane London to Achill Island Underway

A fundraising cycle ride from London to Achill Island is in full swing, with the riders expected in Achill on Saturday 27th August. The event is in memory of Mayo man Shane Corrigan, who died from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) in 2018 at the age of just 23. The aim is to raise €150,000 for Epilepsy Ireland and SUDEP Action. Donations can be made via GoFundMe at the link below:

The cyclists will finish the UK leg of the ride today (Tuesday, 23rd August) and cross the Irish Sea to begin the Irish leg in Dublin tomorrow (Wednesday, 24th August). You can support them in person at the following locations:

  • 24th August – arrival in Dublin and travel to Mullingar
  • 25th August – Mullingar to Roscommon
  • 26th August – Roscommon to Westport
  • 27th August – Westport to Achill Island

The finish line for this event will be Ted’s Bar & Restaurant in Cashel, where there will be a Family Fun Day from 1.30pm to 4pm. All welcome!
