Achill Midsummer Walks Festival

23rd – 25th June 2023, Achill Island

Achill Island is to host a three-day walks festival over the weekend of 23rd to 25th June, 2023.

Achill’s spectacular coastal landscape has been screened across the world as the main setting for the award-winning movie ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’, and also the independent movie ‘My Sailor, My Love’. The Achill Midsummer Walks Festival includes routes that overlook several of the filming locations from these two movies.

The festival features three looped walks, led by local guides, available on the Saturday and Sunday of the weekend. The bi-lingual guides (English agus as Gaeilge) will introduce local history and folklore from each location. There is also a free welcome night walk on the Friday evening. Tickets for each walk can be booked online at EventBrite using the links below.
